RBI Entrance Lobby

Location

BKC, Mumbai

Area

8,000 sq. ft.

This entrance pavilion transforms a utilitarian transition space into a distinct and dignified point of arrival. The design is organised along a strong linear axis, leading visitors from the open forecourt towards the building through a sheltered, visually composed walkway.

A dramatic geometric ceiling forms the defining architectural element. Repeated timber-finished triangular modules create rhythm and depth, with integrated illumination turning selected panels into sculptural light features. Linear lighting continues across the adjoining ceiling planes, reinforcing movement and visually connecting the different zones.

The existing columns are integrated into the composition through fluted timber and marble-finished cladding, giving them a lighter and more refined presence. Textured wall surfaces, glass-fronted interiors and a restrained palette of white, black and warm wood balance solidity with transparency. Landscaped edges and accessible ramps complete the intervention, resulting in an entrance that is functional, welcoming and architecturally

Key Features

This entrance portico is defined by a sculptural ceiling of repeating triangular coffers. Warm wood finishes frame deep charcoal recesses, while integrated lighting highlights selected modules, creating a rhythmic play of light and shadow. Fluted columns combine wood tones with pale marble-patterned bands, extending the material palette vertically. Textured walls and restrained linear lighting complete a cohesive arrival space that remains open to daylight and surrounding greenery.
